DONATE Wheeler Library is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All gifts are tax deductible. Memorial and celebration gifts may be made in honor of, or in memory of a special person. Today, the library operates with a reliance on funds endowed to us by the Wheeler family. In honor of that, the Jennie S. Wheeler Legacy Fund was created for those who wish to remember Wheeler Library in their estate plans. You can help ensure the library’s future with a planned gift. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS GET A LIBRARY CARD ACCESS MY ACCOUNT RENEW LIBRARY MATERIALS INTERLIBRARY LOANS FACILITY RENTAL You are eligible to obtain a Wheeler Library card without charge if you reside in or own property in North Stonington, or if you work in North Stonington. Connecticut residents from outside North Stonington are entitled to borrowing privileges if they have a public library card from the their hometown. Please bring identification and a current, valid hometown library card to register. A current CT driver’s license or CT Photo ID with a North Stonington residential address is acceptable identification. New North Stonington residents who have not yet updated their driver’s license information may provide current photo identification and proof of current residential address. A post office box is not sufficient address. Additional suggested forms for proof of current address include:Telephone Bill; Cable Bill; Electric Bill; Credit Card Bill; Automobile registration or Automobile insurance card. Work in North Stonington but live out of state? Please bring photo identification with proof of residential address and proof of current employment in North Stonington. Your library card will allow you to borrow physical items from Wheeler Library. Digital collections and access to the collections of other public libraries in the state is limited to CT residents. Neighboring states have similar resources available. Cards expire every three years. Please bring your card in for renewal and provide any changes to your name, address, phone numbers, and email address. Constructed of Westerly red and Niantic gray granite, it is both a living monument to its generous founder, Jennie Wheeler, and a North Stonington landmark, situated in the heart of the village. Library Rental for Meetings, Events, and Special Occasions The Wheeler Library provides a beautiful, unique setting for events ranging from seminars and small receptions to intimate weddings. Overdrive - Best-selling and award-winning fiction and nonfiction books and audiobooks as well as magazines. You may borrow up to 10 items at a time. Download the Libby app provided by OverDrive from your app store. The Lion Libraries Consortium eBook holdings consist of over 20,000 copies, while our Overdrive eAudio collection contains over 11,000 copies.
