About the event

Point Jude: Portrait of a Fishing Village

Point Judith is one of the few commercial fishing ports left in New England. Facing increasing pressures from a variety of sources, the men and women still in the industry are as tough as the jobs they do. This film by Markham Starr tries to capture something of the port as a whole, by following eight people through a typical day as they work both on the water harvesting seafood or on shore in support of the industry.
