Gail Braccidiferro MacDonald is a book author, recently retired University of Connecticut professor of journalism and veteran award-winning journalist. Her most recent book is "Abolitionists of the Northeast; Black Leaders of the Antislavery Movement," which will be released by Globe-Pequot in April. She has a deep love of history and has led many historic-themed tours for the Thames River Heritage Park and at New London's historic Cedar Grove Cemetery. She lives in New London. She has also written "Hidden History of Mystic and Stonington" and "Morton F. Plant and the Connecticut Shoreline: Philanthropy in the Gilded Age".

Gail will discuss her background as a journalist, as well as following the ethical constructs of the profession and the research that was required for her most recent book.
