HIKE TO BEAR CAVE WITH OUTDOOR COLUMNIST STEVE FAGIN - October 10th @ 9am
*As a follow-up to the September 24th library program: Black Bears in Connecticut with Paul Colburn, this hike will take us in search of a bear den in North Stonington.
Outdoor columnist Steve Fagin will lead a hike to Bear Cave in Pachaug State Forest at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 10th.
The 5.1-mile, round-trip hike will begin and end at the Wyassup Lake boat ramp parking lot on Wyassup Lake Road in North Stonington.
*PLEASE PARK on Wyassup Lake Road and walk to meet in the lot. The lot is reserved for boating vehichles.
Hikers will follow the blue-blazed Narragansett Trail through dense woodlands, in an out of stunning ravines, and over High Ledge, en route to the base of Bullet Ledge, where two entrances to the cave are located. One entrance, accessible by…
