Downloadable audiobooks are available to Wheeler Library patrons with a valid library card through Recorded Books/NetLibrary. You must come into the library to create a NetLibrary account from one of the library's desktop patron access computers. Once you have created your account at the library, you can then access NetLibrary from home or from any computer with Internet access. If you cannot travel to the library, the staff can create an account for you over the phone as time permits. If you try to create an account outside of the library, it will not work.
To create an account from a Wheeler Library computer or to log in with your existing account click here.
NetLibrary Media Center is available for download. The Media Center allows you to download eAudiobooks directly to your MP3/WMA player or iPod. After you log in, click on the rectangular banner that says "New NetLibrary Media Center" "Easier, faster downloads." and you will be given instructions on how to download the Media Center software. You should make sure your computer is up to date with all Windows Updates before downloading the Media Center. It should take no more than 5 minutes to download the Media Center software. However, if your computer is not updated with all the latest Windows updates, they will be downloaded with the Media Center and it could take up to 30 minutes. Please note: only Windows PC computers or Macs that are dual core and can run Windows software are compatible at this time. Media Center will not install onto PCs running the 64 bit versions of Vista or Windows 7.
NetLibrary Titles Now Available For Your iPod. Over 700 titles are now iPod compatible. You can search for iPod titles on the NetLibrary site by doing an Advanced search. In the optional search limits section, select eAudiobook in the format. Change the drop down selection box from all to MP3. Start your search. You should get about 750 titles which you can sort. Another way to search for iPod titles is to limit the format to MP3 in the Search box of the Media Center. You will, however, get only 150 titles.
