Welcome Springtime Storytimes

It's time to start thinking about the signs of springtime! We'll read some books about tulips, eggs, chicks, ducks, and bunnies. Then we'll make a craft to decorate your home for the arrival of spring! 10:30-11:15 for children 3-5 yrs old 3:30-4:15 for children 5-9 yrs old Registration is required to attend either session. Connecticut Invents

Presented by the Museum of Connecticut History
Monday, March 22nd, Either 10:30 am OR 1:00 pmThe Connecticut Invents! program celebrates Connecticut inventors and inventions while letting the kids become inventors themselves. Participants will be introduced to many famous and not so famous Connecticut inventions from the last 200 years, including the Colt revolver, the toothpaste tube, Frisbee, tape measure, Wiffleball, can opener, submarine and many more. Hands on activities will allow the young inventors to create their own Connecticut invention using simple materials such as straws, tape, pencils and paperclips. Pre-registration required. For children 6 to 10 years old.

This program is funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut.

Kids' Felting Class

Saturday, March 13th from 10 to 11:30 - Kids' Felting Class - Spring Wool Crown making - Use twigs and wool to create a colorful crown. For ages 4 to 8. Pre-registration required by March 6th. A $10 supplies fee to be paid at registration.

Chicks and Eggs
with Julie Mancini

This class is a combination of wet and dry felting. We will apply our basic felting experience to wet felt a hollow egg, which will then be cut open to snugly fit a needle felted chick which we will also make in class. This class is for those who have wet felting experience or have taken the basic wet felting class. Materials included. Please pre-register for this class (maximum of 12 students). Saturday, March 20 9:30 to 12:30 pm. Fee $15.
