Children's Room

The Children's Room at the Wheeler Library provides library materials and resources for children of all ages. Our collection includes books for infants and children; videos & DVDs; books on tape; and children's magazines. School age children will find materials for pleasure reading and for completing school assignments.
We often secure materials from other libraries in the state through the Interlibrary Loan System. To help us help you, please let us know as soon as your project is assigned so that we can make the reference materials available to you. For students working on research projects, we have Internet access.
Please sign our Access Policy before using the Internet at the library.
Borrowing Privileges
Application for library cards may be made when the parent believes the child is ready. There is no limit on the number of books borrowed; however, only two books on any specific topic may be borrowed at one time. Books circulate for three weeks. Fines accumulate at ten cents per day per book. Renewals by phone are encouraged. Class visits from the North Stonington Elementary School take place monthly during the school year. Books borrowed during class visits are due two weeks from the date of that visit. The books may be renewed.
