Giving to Wheeler Library / Leaving a legacy

OUR Wheeler Library Annual Appeal

windowFunding for Wheeler Library comes from income generated from an endowment left by the Wheeler Family, an annual appeal, the town of North Stonington and the Friends of Wheeler Library.  We depend in large part on the generosity of individuals and organizations for a large part of our budget. Your gifts support our operating budget and capital projects. Currently, we are raising funds for our operating budget. Make a donation by clicking on the Donate button below – the Paypal window will open and you may use a credit card or your Paypal account. Thank you.

Wheeler Library is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All gifts are tax deductible. Memorial and celebration gifts may be made in honor or memory of a special person.  Please contact the Library Director, Amy Kennedy, at 860.535.0383 with any questions about memorial gifts.  The mailing address for the library is PO Box 217, North Stonington, CT 06359

The Jennie S. Wheeler Legacy Fund

We have created the Jennie S. Wheeler Legacy Fund for those who wish to remember Wheeler Library in their estate plans.  More than a century ago, Jennie Wheeler was the force behind the creation of Wheeler School and Library. We operate the library with a reliance on funds endowed to us by the Wheeler family. You can help ensure the library’s future with a planned gift.

To inaugurate the Legacy Fund and honor the generous bequest given by Bill Hescock, we planted a copper beech tree on the library lawn. Regina Hescock provided the funds to purchase this beautiful tree and we are grateful for this lasting gift.

To leave an unrestricted gift to Wheeler Library, you can use the following words. “I give, devise and bequeath to the Wheeler School and Library, Inc. , PO Box 217, 101 Main Street, North Stonington, CT 06359    ___ percent of my estate or the sum of ___.” Please contact Library Trustee Kim Barry ( for more information on planned giving. Wheeler Library’s federal tax ID is 06-0728869.

For more information on supporting the library please give us a call at 860.535.0383 and ask for Amy Kennedy.
